The owners of Lakeside Paddleboats have announced their decision to cease operations at Emerald Lake Park effective February 9th, 2025. They are actively seeking a new, suitable location to relocate their business.
This news marks the end of an era for an attraction that has been a beloved fixture in the area, drawing both tourists and locals for many years. In a statement posted on the Lakeside Paddleboat Facebook page, it was explained that Emerald Lake Park is no longer a viable option for the business’s continued operations.
“The once beautiful Emerald Lake Park has now become an unviable place for our iconic Paddleboats. Decisions and choices beyond our control have been made that have significantly impacted us, both personally and financially and we just cannot stay.”
The Cardina Concil have also released a statement on their own website addressing the closure which can be read in full here
“Council is very disappointed to see the much-loved Lakeside Paddleboats relocate from Emerald Lake Park. The paddleboats have given many visitors’ fond memories at the park, and we wish them well with their decision to relocate.
The attraction will no longer be available to visitors from 9 February and council will now be considering future opportunities for the lake and our visitors.
Council has been working closely with the operators of Lakeside Paddleboats and other Emerald Lake Park stakeholders over many years, including the more recent embankment stabilisation works carried out in July 2023.”
We extend our best wishes to the owners in their pursuit of a suitable new location. We will provide an update once further information becomes available.
